Back to work
H’okay. So, I’ve now seen Avatar in 3D. Not something to rant and rave about if you ask me, although the VFX alone were stunning. And by alone I mean the only stunning part. I can’t say I’m a big fan of the rest.
In other news I do in fact have a job now, minimum wage but its how ever many hours a week I can manage. Which is brilliant. It means that should I need to concentrate on uni work, I can, but should I have a week off I can go in and earn even more money. Brilliance.
I’m also now looking at doing quite a bit of web development over the next month, in part as there’s an assignment due but also as I owe a friend a site. So, keep an eye out for that.

Hum drum
It would seem that during the hum-drum that I’ve neglected this. Which is actually quite annoying as I know a few people do actually read it. The only problem is that I don’t really know if there’s really any more than five maybe six of you. I was considering attaching a poll, but alas I can’t work up the energy just now to add such an option. In the mean time, Uni has been progressing, as always and the cut-off for Work Experience is well on it’s way. Also, I’m off to Senegal in just over two weeks, for the second time in my life. As i type I am reminding myself to order a camera from Amazon in preparation so that I can actually take photos. Which will be nice. The last time I had my hands on a camera I ended up taking ~600 photos in a week, which might be bit of a problem considering the lack of available power as well as a possible lack of storage for all the photos. I’ll just have to make sure I’ve got enough time before I go to check over all these things.
On top of this, and as I’ve just remembered I need to discuss, I am going to a company tomorrow to see if i can help them with some work, which may or may not be paid but at any rate may give me somewhere to do work experience, as well as work at the moment too.
All in all I’m getting busier and busier. I’ve had to turn down an invitation to be on team at Leading Edge as it conflicts, quite heavily, with Soul Survivor. Which was rather annoying. Anyways, hope you’ve had/are having a good day.

A Whirlwind week
It’s been a busy week on all fronts, sort of.
I’ve had three maybe four assignments due in over the past week, which wasn’t good, and I also went to Chelmsford, Essex, for Solid Remix, as Visual Tech. Which was fun.
Now, I still have three assignments, all due in tomorrow actually… Anyway, I’ve just got a little bit more (read, about 1000 words) to do on one. I’ve got pictures and instructions for building a PC for another. And just some printing and writing for the last. I feel that I can get all this done in time. It is possible.
Also, I’ve made a breakthrough in PHP coding, which is rather nice as it means I’m that bit closer to a public version of Digdeepr. I managed to get it to produce a url that another page can use to select one out of the eventual hundreds of records of an SQL Database. And I worked out how to do it on my own. Not that I had much choice, of course, but there you go.
We’ve also had a second lot of snow this week, which wasn’t so good as i actually needed to get into college on the wednesday (It snowed on the tuesday night).
So, thats my week.

Forgetting blogging
It would seem that as i’m not doing quite as much as when i was at viz that i’m not blogging quite as much. Suffice to say it’s been over a week since my last one and that wasn’t really that much.
So, what have i been up to?
Well, for starters, I’ve managed to keep up, just about, with university work. I’ve handed in four, maybe five, assignments all of which have been really rahther long. In case you’re curious the “modules” i’m studying are, Hardware, Intro to Software Development, Systems Analysis and Databases (boring -_-), Business Information Systems, ‘Web Technologies, Applications and Development’, Research and a couple of others that are supposed to help with actually doing the course.
Although so far it’s been quite a bit of what I did in the BTEC National Diploma it looks like it should be good fun in year 2. Then after that I’m hoping to do the top up year for a Bachelors Degree in Computing. After that I don’t know. Work, start up a company, free-lance… It’s very much undecided.
As well as college I’ve managed to also get involved with Matrix at Station Hill Baptist Church and Beta at St. Pauls church. Although it’s nice to be helping out it’s also a bit of a strain on my time management. But i’m sure that will get itself sorted soon enough.
So that’s about it i guess. I’m also going back to Senegal next month, which should be rather quite awesome. I’ve just got one more jab (£33! The cheek of it!) and insurance and Malarone and then I’m set. Scary shizzle.
Have a nice weekend or week, depending on when you’re reading this. Tata.

Product Review – Knappa Klover
That’s right. I’ve spent too much time trying to piece together an ungodly design of a Light Shade. It’s from Ikea althogh it appeas to be dis-continued now, to my relief. The instructions don’t help much and should be used to understand how the thing is put together rather than as instructions. I also ended up using Electrical Tape to hold the pieces together as they kept coming apart. Not fun. I’d give it 2/5.
Here’s a link to someone flickr account where you can find photos of the manual - http://www.flickr.com/photos/shinerclay/375357765/in/set-72157594453866661/

Emo
tion. It can be such a wonderful thing but can also be a pain in the arse/neck. Some people find it easy, almost too easy, to show emotion while others struggle to show any at all. I was for a while the former, however, due to, as far as i can see, my brother and sisters I now find it difficult to express many emotions. On top of this I’m rather brilliant, I think, at concealing how I really feel, even if how I look says something different.
If i watched film that would normally make anyone cry it probably wouldn’t, if anything I’d probably laugh. Why? Why laugh when I should be shedding a tear? Because that is the way my brain works. It is this emotionless that I’m talking about. It may well be that this is also what causes me to loath musicals. They seem to be quite emotional but they “disturb me very sprites”. They make me cringe. Litterally.
So, what is the point of this, well, I don’t know. Maybe you have an idea of how to re-condition my mind to actually show some emotion?

*Yawn*
It’s ten to three. Hurrah. I’m off to Lee Abby tomorrow for a weekend of fun doing things like rock climbing and mountain boarding, assuming that, as a leader, i can do those things. For now, I play games…

Busy as a bee
Well, it’s now under a month to christmas and in the next few months I am actually really busy.
In December I’m going to Lee Abby with Beta, I’ve got Church PA duty two or three times and Matrix. In January, on the 2nd no less I’m off to Lowestoft for a wedding, then I’m headed back that way for Solid Remix on the 14th. In february I’m off to Senegal for 13 days or there abouts. I’ve also got myself involved with the tech team (how many techies there actualy is I don’t know) at college. Fun fun. As well as all this I have assignments to get done.

First try
So today I handed in the first of many (apparently rather long) assignments on Business Information Systems. What fun. Although I did only get round to actually doing anything on it yesterday it still would’ve helped to have done todays “Introduction to HE Study” like, in october maybe? Nevermind.
And now I’ve also got WAMP installed, so i can now program and test PHP on my laptop. I have also bought a rather bare-bones Laptop Cooler. I thought it might actually be quite good but it’s literally a piece of see-through plastic, four stumps, three fans and a usb lead. Rather a waste of money really but nevermind. It sort of works and I’ve managed to bodge a fourth fan onto it to help my laptops exhuast fan along. Such fun…
